Boy airlifted to hospital after off-road motorbike incident

The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter has flown a boy to hospital, after he was thrown from a motorbike, on a property north of Toowoomba.

The aeromedical crew was called to the scene around 2.30 this afternoon.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Flight Paramedic worked with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the school-aged boy for his injuries.

He was flown to the Queensland Children’s Hospital, for further treatment.

Tasked by Queensland Health, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to assisting in providing the south west region and beyond, with community aeromedical coverage, by donating 150 flying hours each year.

With aircraft based in Roma and Toowoomba, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter service is fully funded by the four SGAS partners
