LifeFlight airlifts critically injured man after truck collision 

The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew airlifted a man to hospital today after the truck he was driving collided with a tree. 

The rescue chopper was tasked to the incident at 10:30am on a dirt road in the Fraser Coast region.

The patient was trapped in the vehicle and freed by Queensland Fire Department (QFD) personnel. 

The LifeFlight crew landed the aircraft close to the scene of the crash with Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and Queensland Police Service (QPS) in attendance.

The patient, aged in his 30s, was treated on scene for life-threatening head and leg injuries by the LifeFlight critical care doctor, flight paramedic and local QAS paramedics.

He was airlifted to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for further treatment.
