LifeFlight airlifts woman after quad bike crash

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a woman to hospital after a quad bike crash into a wall in the Gympie region.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 11.27am and landed at a private property in Brooloo near the scene, bringing a specialist medical team directly to the patient.

In a multi-agency response, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and Queensland Fire Department (QFD) firefighters also attended the incident.

The critical care LifeFlight doctor and QAS flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for head injuries.

The woman, in her 60s, was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
