LifeFlight airlifts man to hospital after building collapses

The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew yesterday (Friday 19 June) airlifted a man to hospital after he was injured when a modular house reportedly fell from a jack.

The rescue helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 4:11pm and landed on the property east of Childers, bringing a specialist aeromedical team directly to the patient.

Queensland Ambulance Service and Queensland Fire Department were also at the scene.

Two men at the scene sustained serious injuries but managed to free themselves from under the building.

The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked alongside local QAS paramedics to treat one man for serious chest injuries.

The man, aged in his 40s, was airlifted to the LifeFlight Bundaberg base where he was transferred by ambulance to Bundaberg Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The other man was road transported by paramedics to Bundaberg Hospital with leg injuries.
