LifeFlight airlifts teen after multi-vehicle crash

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew last night airlifted a teenager to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash at Walligan near Hervey Bay.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 6.40pm by Retrieval Services Queensland and landed south of the scene.

The incident was attended by Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS), Queensland Fire Department (QFD) and Queensland Police Service (QPS).

The critical care LifeFlight doctor and QAS flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the female teenager, who was extricated from a vehicle by Queensland Fire Department.

She was airlifted to Hervey Bay Hospital for further treatment.
