LifeFlight airlifts man after snake bite

The Roma-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) crew yesterday airlifted a man to hospital after he was bitten on the leg by a snake.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 3.40pm to a property southwest of Eurombah, following a Triple Zero (000) call to the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS).

The critical care LifeFlight doctor and flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the patient.

The man, aged in his 20s, was airlifted to Roma Hospital for further treatment.

The LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to providing community aeromedical coverage.
