RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts toddler attacked by dog

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown a toddler to hospital after he was attacked by a dog this afternoon.

It’s believed the young child was at a party on a private property in the Gympie region, when he approached a dog, which was tied up.

The dog bit the boy on the the face.

The rescue chopper was tasked just after 2pm (Sun 24th April).

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) personnel were first on scene and treated the child before transporting him to the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter, which landed at nearby Gympie Hospital.

He was then flown to the Queensland Children’s Hospital for further treatment.
