Missing woman found floating on loose pontoon

The Brisbane-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has located a woman, who went missing from a houseboat this morning.

She had been trying to fix the anchor on the boat, when the current caused the pontoon she was standing on to break loose.

A motorist spotted her floating down a Brisbane creek, on the pontoon, just after 6am and called emergency services.

A few hours later the woman, aged in her twenties, was reported missing.

The helicopter was called in by the Queensland Police Service (QPS) around 11.15am, to help officers in the search.

The crew quickly spotted the woman on the pontoon, among some mangroves, and notified QPS.

The helicopter hovered over the pontoon, while water police travelled to the area to retrieve the boatie.
