The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter had a busy end to 2019, with back to back missions in the Southern Downs overnight.
The aeromedical crew was first tasked to airlift a man to hospital, after his buggy rolled over on a farm.
It’s believed other people close to the accident scene drove the injured man to a nearby house.
The rescue helicopter was called into action just after 8pm, last night (Tuesday 31 December).
It landed in a dirt airstrip near the property, from where the LifeFlight Critical Care Doctor and QAS Critical Care Flight Paramedic were picked up in a vehicle and driven to the house.
The aeromedical crew assisted the QAS paramedics, already at the house, in treating and stabilising the patient for the flight, before he was transported to the helicopter in an ambulance.
He was then flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, in a stable condition, with suspected neck and back injuries.
The Toowoomba RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper was then immediately re-tasked to the Southern Downs, around 11:20pm, to airlift a man seriously injured by a bull.
