The Roma-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) crew today helped a school-aged boy after he fell from a horse in the Maranoa region.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 1.23pm by Retrieval Services Queensland to a private property near Wallumbilla, 40km east of Roma.
After they landed nearby, the LifeFlight doctor and flight paramedic worked with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the young boy for lower limb injuries.
The patient was stabilised on the ground before being flown to Toowoomba Hospital for further treatment.
The LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to providing community aeromedical coverage.
