Terms and Conditions of Entry & Privacy Notice

1. Acceptance of Conditions

By entering the Sunshine Coast Visitor Experience & Education Centre (VEEC), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions of Entry.

The VEEC may operate with or without staff or volunteers present. Visitors enter and participate in the experience at their own risk, subject to their rights under Australian Consumer Law.

2. Visitor Responsibilities

Visitors must:

  • Follow all signage, safety instructions, and directions provided by LifeFlight personnel, volunteers, or authorised representatives.
  • Treat all exhibits, equipment, facilities, and other visitors with respect.
  • Use interactive displays and experiences only as intended.
  • Immediately report hazards, damage, injuries, or unsafe conditions to LifeFlight.
  • Comply with all emergency procedures and evacuation instructions.

LifeFlight reserves the right to refuse entry to, or remove, any person who behaves in a manner that is unsafe, disruptive, offensive, or likely to cause damage to the facility or exhibits.

3. Children

Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult at all times.

Parents and guardians remain responsible for the safety, supervision, and conduct of children in their care while attending the VEEC.

4. School Groups, Excursions and Organised Visits

  • Teachers, group leaders, excursion coordinators and accompanying adults remain responsible for the supervision, behaviour, welfare and safety of participants in their group at all times.
  • LifeFlight personnel are not responsible for supervising students or group participants except where expressly agreed.
  • Schools and organisations are responsible for ensuring appropriate participant-to-supervisor ratios.
  • Participants must comply with all directions provided by supervising adults and LifeFlight representatives.

5. Unmanned Operating Periods

The VEEC may operate as a self-guided experience during certain periods, including weekends, public holidays, or other designated times during the week.

During these periods:

  • Staff or volunteers may not be present.
  • Visitors are responsible for supervising themselves and those in their care.
  • Emergency information is displayed throughout the centre.
  • In an emergency, visitors should call 000 and follow the emergency instructions displayed within the facility.
  • Emergency contact details for LifeFlight or facility management may be displayed within the centre for non-urgent operational issues.


6. Bookings

LifeFlight reserves the right to modify, reschedule or cancel visits, events or training activities where required for operational, safety or unforeseen circumstances.

7. Safety and Risk

Visitors acknowledge that:

  • The VEEC contains interactive exhibits and equipment.
  • Participation in activities involves normal risks associated with visiting a public facility.
  • Visitors must exercise reasonable care for their own safety and the safety of others.
  • Visitors are responsible for their own personal belongings.
  • LifeFlight accepts no responsibility for loss, theft or damage to personal property except where liability cannot be excluded by law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights that cannot be excluded under Australian law.

8. Trauma and Sensitive Content

  • Some exhibits, educational materials, simulations, videos, audio recordings or training activities may contain references to medical emergencies, accidents, injuries, trauma, or rescue operations.
  • Visitors who may be affected by such content should exercise discretion when participating.
  • Parents, guardians, teachers and group leaders are responsible for determining whether content is suitable for children or individuals in their care.


9. Photography, Filming and CCTV

LifeFlight operate CCTV systems within and around the VEEC for safety, security, operational, and incident management purposes.

Visitors consent to the collection and use of CCTV footage in accordance with applicable laws and LifeFlight’s Privacy Policy.

Visitors may take photographs for personal, non-commercial use unless otherwise advised.

LifeFlight may occasionally photograph or film visitors for promotional, educational, or community engagement purposes. Where practical, consent will be obtained before identifiable images are used.

Schools and organised groups are responsible for obtaining any permissions or consents required for photography or filming of participants by their organisation.

10. Visitor Registration

LifeFlight may request visitor information including:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Postcode
  • Age
  • Visitor numbers
  • Visit date and time

Providing this information is voluntary unless required for participation in a specific activity, event, or booking.

11. Privacy Collection Notice

LifeFlight collects personal information for purposes including:

  • Visitor registration and attendance records
  • Visitor experience improvement
  • Operational planning and reporting
  • Emergency management and incident response
  • Community engagement activities
  • Communication regarding events, programs, and services where consent has been provided

Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and LifeFlight’s Privacy Policy.

Where visitors subscribe to communications, they may opt out at any time using the unsubscribe facility or by contacting LifeFlight.

12. Disclosure of Information

Personal information may be disclosed to service providers, contractors, technology providers, emergency services, government agencies, or other organisations where authorised or required by law, or as outlined in LifeFlight’s Privacy Policy.

13. Access and Correction

Visitors may request access to, or correction of, their personal information by contacting LifeFlight.

14. Changes to Conditions

LifeFlight may amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Updated versions will be available on the LifeFlight website.
