Dale Rethamel, owner of Bundaberg-based caravan dealership Takalvans, has spent the past 20 years growing the business into a multi-award-winning regional dealership.
The past 20 years as owner of the business has seen Dale grow the company from its humble beginning to a large regional multi award winning dealership. The dealership sells both new and used caravans, spare parts and accessories and specializes in servicing and insurance repair.
Dale has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology, Politics and Public Policy. He is also trade qualified in Automotive Manufacturing.
Bundaberg born and raised, Dale is well known throughout the Region for volunteering in numerous community groups and organizations, and his generous contributions to local sporting clubs and community groups through sponsorship. Dale was the Bundaberg Region Australia Day Citizen of the Year in 2022.
Dale is the Past President of the Bundaberg Horse Racing Club and is a strong advocate and passionate supporter of the local community.
A long-term resident of Gayndah in the North Burnett, John brings with him a strong knowledge and background in business and community engagement.
Recently retired from local government as a divisional councilor with the North Burnett Regional Council, John continues his heavy involvement in community affairs in the North Burnett. Currently sitting as Chair of the Burnett Inland Economic Development Organisation based in Murgon, John also chairs the Mundubbera Community Bank (Bendigo) Board, which provides a full range of banking services and operates principally in the North Burnett and Taroom regions. John also is presently Chairperson of the Community Reference Group, attached to the Gayndah Health Service. Prior to his entry in local government John was a director/ manager of Gayndah Fruitgrowers Co-operative, a large retail business located in Gayndah.
Married to registered nurse Lynda, and father of four sons, John has spent much voluntary time in executive positions in local sporting and community organisations. A retired solicitor, John has for more than two decades provided a free of charge audit service to not-for-profit associations across the Burnett, enabling many to direct all funding to assist in achieving their various goals.
As a strong advocate of the need to maintain and improve all services to rural and regional areas, John is strongly motivated to ensure the ongoing success of LifeFlight in providing its wonderful services.
Scott is the Partner & Principal Engineer at RMA Engineers and has over 20 years of experience in project management, development advisory and engineering.
Scott formed a close connection to LifeFlight after RMA was involved with the development of their Toowoomba base and the Bundaberg base builds.
He saw firsthand the incredible work LifeFlight does within communities and is proud to be an ongoing supporter.
Brant has been a dedicated real estate salesperson with Four Walls Realty, a leading independent agency in Bundaberg and Bargara, since 2017. He began his real estate career in 2006 and brings nearly two decades of experience in the industry.
Brant relocated to the Bundaberg region in the late 1990s with his wife, Sarah, and together they have raised two children, Emily and Lachlan.
In addition to his professional career, Brant is an active member of the Bundaberg Central Rotary Club and serves on the board of Regional Business HQ—a not-for-profit organisation that supports small to medium-sized businesses in the region. These roles allow him to give back to the community both locally and globally.
Brant considers it a privilege to join the LifeFlight Regional Advisory Committee. LifeFlight holds personal significance for his family—many years ago, his grandmother was flown from Hervey Bay to Brisbane, and more recently, his wife Sarah was airlifted from Bundaberg to Brisbane. Inspired by LifeFlight’s reputation and impact, Brant is proud to contribute his time and experience to support the organisation’s life-saving mission.
Tina has lived in the Wide Bay Burnett for the last 20 years. She’s a proud Queenslander with her roots in the sun, the sea and the soil and currently with her husband Bruce she grows macadamias and strawberries and has a thriving agritourism operation.
Tina’s farming career has taken her to New Zealand, Uruguay and Indonesia in family farming, large scale projects and corporate farming before she and Bruce brought their family to settle in the Wide Bay Burnett.
Tina has a long history of community and industry involvement and has served on the board of Bundaberg Fruit and Vegetable Growers, Passion fruit Australia and is currently the Deputy Chair of Bundaberg Tourism and Vice President of Agritourism Queensland.
Michael is a 4th generation cattle farmer on the family property 55kms north of Gin Gin. His family settled in the Gaeta district at the turn of the 20th century. He was raised on the land with his 2 brothers and is now, along with his beautiful wife Gina, raising their daughter in their generational family home.
The management and day to day operations of Glen Eva were handed over to Michael in 2009. They have undertaken and implemented new programs to develop Glen Eva into a sustainable and viable cattle operation. Michael has also completed a bachelor in Business and an associate diploma in Grazing Animals.
Serving the local community has been a large part of Michael’s family heritage. He is currently the chairman of the Gin Gin Local chaplaincy Committee, Chairman of the Gaeta and District Progress and Landcare assc and volunteer at the aged residence, Kolan Gardens. He is also a member of the local Agforce branch and Kolonga RFB.
Daniel is a Partner and Senior Financial Adviser at Advice Centre, with over 12 years experience within the financial services industry. He has twice been nominated as a finalist for the Con Souvlis Young Achiever at the Fraser Coast Business and tourism awards.Â
Daniel grew up locally in Maryborough and moved to Brisbane for study and work before relocating back to the Fraser coast region and settling in Hervey Bay with his family. Since returning to the region, he has remained active in both sporting and community groups.
