Motorcyclist airlifted after crashing into guardrail

An RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown a motorcyclist to hospital after he hit a guardrail, while riding on a highway, south-east of Nanango.

It’s believed the man, aged in his 30s, had been travelling with friends, when the accident happened.

The Sunshine Coast-based chopper was called in just before 12.30 this afternoon.

The pilot was able to land the aircraft in a clearing, near the crash scene.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics, initially treated the patient, for serious leg injuries.

The man was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, in a stable condition, under the care of an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and a QAS Flight Paramedic.
