The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter has airlifted a teenager to hospital, after a ute rollover, south-west of Gatton.
The rescue chopper was tasked just before 4:30pm today (Fri 21 August) and landed in a paddock near the scene.
The aeromedical team worked alongside paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) to treat the teenage driver.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel and Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers were also at the scene, when the rescue helicopter arrived.
It’s believed the single vehicle accident happened on a slight bend in the road.
The driver suffered traumatic injuries and was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
The LifeFlight SGAS helicopter performed the mission, as part of the SGAS partners commitment to assisting in providing the south west region and beyond, with community aeromedical coverage, by donating 150 flying hours each year.
