The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted two people, after they were injured in a car crash, overnight.
Shortly after 1am (Saturday 4th April) the rescue chopper was sent to the North Burnett for a medical transfer but was re-tasked, during the mission, following reports a car had crashed into a tree.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was able to land at a hospital, north west of Gympie, where Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics had already transported the crash victims, from the scene.
There, the aeromedical team assisted hospital staff with the treatment of four patients, who had been injured.
A teenage boy and girl both suffered serious injuries, which required a higher level of care.
They were flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, both in a stable condition.
The two other occupants of the vehicle suffered minor injuries and did not require airlifting
