Roadway landing for RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper

The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter pilot landed his aircraft on a closed road, to bring medical help as close as possible, to the scene of a car crash late yesterday. (Sat 28th)

The rescue helicopter was tasked to respond to the incident, west of Maryborough, just before 5pm.

A single vehicle had run off the road, rolled, landed on its roof and hit a tree.

Emergency services, including Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) officers were at the crash site, when the helicopter landed.

The driver, aged in his thirties, was the sole occupant of the sedan.

He was in a serious but stable condition, when he was airlifted to Hervey Bay Hospital.
