Elderly couple airlifted after single vehicle rollover

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted an injured couple to hospital, after a car crash, in the Somerset region, earlier today.
It’s believed the pair was travelling along a highway, when the male driver lost control of the car, which veered off the road and rolled down an embankment.
The rescue chopper was sent to the scene shortly after 2pm, where the pilot was able to land the helicopter on the road.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics assisted the aeromedical crew in treating the couple, a male and female aged in their seventies, for multiple injuries.
They were flown in a stable condition to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
