Toddler airlifted after walking through extinguished campfire

The Brisbane-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has flown a toddler to hospital, after he reportedly walked through an extinguished campfire, in the Southern Downs.

The boy suffered burns to his feet and one hand. 

The helicopter was tasked to the scene, at a private property, around 1.20pm (Thursday 1 October). 

Upon arrival, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were already treating the patient. 

He was transferred to the aircraft, from a QAS vehicle, before being flown to Queensland Children’s Hospital, under the care of an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Flight Nurse. 

The boy travelled in a stable condition, with his mother as an escort.
