The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter has airlifted a teenager to hospital, after a single vehicle rollover in the South Burnett.
The patient was reportedly trapped in the vehicle for more than half an hour, before another driver came across the scene and called emergency services.
The helicopter flew to the scene around 4 o’clock this afternoon (Monday 21 September).
When the aeromedical crew arrived, the female had been freed from the vehicle and was being treated by Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics.
She was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition, with injuries to her head and left shoulder.
The LifeFlight SGAS helicopter performed the mission, as part of the SGAS partners commitment to assisting in providing the south west region and beyond, with community aeromedical coverage, by donating 150 flying hours each year.
