The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a woman to hospital after an offroad ute incident in the Somerset region.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 12.42pm by Retrieval Services Queensland and landed in a clearing near the scene.
It is believed the patient was in the tray of a ute and became trapped when it rolled back into a tree.
In a multiagency response, the incident was also attended by Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics, Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers and Queensland Fire Department (QFD) firefighters.
The critical care LifeFlight doctor and QAS flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for a laceration to her lower body.
The woman, in her 50s, was airlifted to the Brisbane LifeFlight base and road transported in a stable condition to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
