LifeFlight airlifts teenager after 4WD accident

The LifeFlight Sunshine Coast-based aeromedical crew today airlifted a teenage boy to hospital after a 4WD incident at a recreational park north of Boondooma.

The rescue helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 10.04am.

It’s believed a branch from a fallen tree entered the cabin and impaled the patient in his leg, causing a deep cut.

He was treated on scene by his family and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics.

The patient was road transported to a nearby helipad, where the LifeFlight helicopter airlifted him to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
