LifeFlight airlifts man after tree breaks leg

The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew airlifted a man to hospital today after a tree-felling incident.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked to the Bundaberg region at 11.20am and landed in a nearby paddock after the injured man called Triple Zero (000).

It’s believed the man in his 40s was cutting trees in his yard when he was pinned beneath one when it fell.

The LifeFlight critical care doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked alongside local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for a right leg fracture.

He was flown to Bundaberg Hospital for further treatment.

The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight helicopter and crew service the Wide Bay-Burnett region and beyond.
