Injured skydiver airlifted to hospital

The Brisbane-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a man who was injured in a skydiving accident, this afternoon.

The chopper was tasked to the Somerset region around 3pm, after the patient’s parachute failed.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and Queensland Police Service (QPS) personnel were already on scene and assisting the patient when the aeromedical crew arrived.

The man, aged in his forties, suffered a broken leg and was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.
