LifeFlight airlifts woman to hospital after car rolls twice

The LifeFlight Sunshine Coast aeromedical crew airlifted a woman to hospital following a motor vehicle crash at South Nanango this morning.

It is believed the woman in her 40s lost control of the vehicle around 6am when driving around a corner.

The vehicle rolled twice, ejecting the woman from the car.

A child remained in the vehicle and was treated for whiplash and minor injuries and taken by road to the Kingaroy Hospital.

The LifeFlight helicopter landed in a field beside the road, 5km from the accident due to thick fog.

Local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics drove both patients to the helicopter where the LifeFlight critical care doctor and flight paramedic further treated the woman for suspected serious spinal injuries.

She was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital.
