Since 1979, LifeFlight has been a proud part of the Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay, and South Burnett communities. As our communities grow and their needs evolve, so does the demand for our lifesaving services. Over the past four years alone, we’ve seen a 50 per cent increase in the number of people we’ve helped.
This base isn’t just about today—it’s about preparing for the future of LifeFlight’s aeromedical services. With enhanced crew accommodations and a larger engineering area, this base is designed to make our 24-hour response even more efficient and effective.
But, we need your support to ensure that we can continue to deliver world-class aeromedical services and emergency response, when and where it’s needed most. With our Sunshine Coast Local Legend program, you can make this possible.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps us shape the future of emergency aeromedicine and rescue. For larger gifts of $500 or more, your name, business name, or the name of a loved one will be forever honoured on our Wall of Legends at the new Sunshine Coast aeromedical hub. This tile ensures your legacy of support is remembered for years to come.
After purchasing your tile, a member of our team will reach out to discuss the details you’d like displayed. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about this initiative, email supporters@lifeflight.org.au. To donate over the phone, call 1800 630 014.
Thanks to the generous support of the Queensland Government, this hub is coming to life. But we still need your help to outfit it with the latest equipment, ensuring we can provide the pinnacle of care to our patients.
The new LifeFlight Sunshine Coast Aeromedical Hub is located in the Aerospace Precinct at Sunshine Coast Airport and will be a gateway for the region and beyond.
This cutting-edge hub will have the capacity to host two AW139 helicopters and a Challenger 604 air ambulance jet, ensuring our essential search, rescue, and aeromedical services meet the growing needs of our communities.
In addition to having dedicated hangars for both rotary and fixed-wing aircraft, the new facility will also house on-site engineering and maintenance facilities, as well as modern amenities for administration, training, storage, and crew quarters.
The centre will also include a Visitor Experience that encourages community engagement and will be known as the Jocelyn Walker LifeFlight Visitor Experience in recognition of Jocelyn’s significant legacy donation to LifeFlight.
*All donations over $2 are tax-deductible. At the LifeFlight Foundation (ABN: 63 618 170 184), we use Payments2Us and Ezidebit so your donations are secure. If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Traditional Custodians of the land on which we serve and fly, and pay respect to their Elders past, present and future.
