Join a public session near you and learn alongside other parents and carers.
Little Lives Matter is a First Minutes Matter workshop focused on paediatric emergencies, equipping you with practical skills and confidence to respond when a child needs help most.
Designed for parents, grandparents, carers, teachers, and community members, this hands-on session will equip you with the skills to respond in emergency situations, including:
Recognising and assessing the unwell child
Paediatric medical emergencies
Paediatric trauma emergencies
Paediatric basic life support
We will also look at different tools and resources you can utilise in an emergency.
Because what you do in those first minutes can make all the difference.
Children rely on the people around them in an emergency.
Little Lives gives you the confidence and capability to step in, take action and support a child until help arrives, helping build safer, more prepared communities.
You’ll learn how to recognise and respond to common childhood emergencies, including choking, breathing emergencies, injuries, drowning incidents and other medical situations.
The workshop focuses on practical skills and real-world scenarios, helping you feel confident to act in those critical first minutes before emergency services arrive.
No experience is needed.
Little Lives is designed for everyday people, with simple, practical guidance you can apply in real situations. The focus is on building confidence and capability, not technical expertise.
Little Lives is focused specifically on paediatric emergencies and the moments before help arrives. It is practical, accessible and tailored to real-life situations you may face with children, rather than formal certification or complex clinical skills.
Yes! You can bring Little Lives to your school, childcare centre, workplace or community group. Workshops can be tailored to your audience and delivered locally, making it easy to build confidence and preparedness within your community.
First Minutes Matter Little Lives is not a registered First Aid Course. You will, however, receive a certification of participation upon successful completion of the course.
Little Lives workshops are free to attend, with no cost to participants. Thanks to community and partner support, First Minutes Matter is able to deliver these life-saving workshops to families, carers and communities at no cost—helping more people build the confidence to act when it matters most.
