Aviation careers

As a member of LifeFlight’s aviation team, you’ll spend each day helping to save lives in Australia and around the world. Each day will be unique and exciting.

You’ll fly wherever patients need help, either for emergency care at the scene of an accident with our rescue helicopters or scheduled bedside-bedside transport onboard our Air Ambulance jets.

One day you might be in Fiji bringing home a sick or injured traveler, the next you might be in the Northern Territory helping a patient from a remote hospital reach lifesaving care at a major hospital.

We underpin this fulfilling, exciting career with a working environment in which safety and employee welfare are paramount. We operate world-class equipment and maintenance programs along with flexible working arrangements that provide you with a safe and enjoyable workplace.

We recruit in the following aviation careers:

  • Helicopter pilots and co-pilots
  • Aircrew officers
  • Winch operators
  • Jet pilots and co-pilots
  • Tasking and logistics
  • Aviation engineers

Queensland is one of the most naturally beautiful places in the world. Clean air, one of the world’s longest coastlines in a single state and natural wonders everywhere you go. Queensland is Australia’s second largest state by area and third most populous. Both a commercial and mining powerhouse and a tourism mecca, Queensland has something for everyone, including thousands of square kilometres of unspoiled wonder.

Whilst Brisbane is shaping itself as a vibrant hub and world leader in attracting industry sectors that are globally scalable in the new world economy, our aeromedical bases in Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg and Cairns offer a different, and wholly more satisfying pace for many of our recruits. Many of them enjoy working across bases, experiencing a little bit of everything this amazing state has to offer.
