The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today winched a man after he injured his foot while climbing a mountain.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 9.52am by Retrieval Services Queensland to a national park on the Queensland and New South Wales border.
The man had been walking with friends and family for about an hour when he fell while walking on rocks.
The critical care LifeFlight doctor, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic and rescue crew officer (RCO) were winched down to the patient, and he was treated for a suspected broken ankle.
He was moved to a nearby clearing and then winched into the helicopter with the flight paramedic.
The man, in his 20s, was airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
