LifeFlight airlifts man to hospital after approximately 5m fall

The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew yesterday airlifted a man to hospital after he fell approximately 5m from a silo near Linthorpe in the Toowoomba region.

Due to flood waters in the area the LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 6:04pm by Retrieval Services Queensland and landed on the private property at the scene.

The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for suspected spinal and head injuries.

The patient, aged in his 50s, was airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in stable condition for further treatment.
