LifeFlight rescues injured motorcyclist in South Burnett region

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew airlifted a man to hospital today (Saturday) after he came off his motorcycle near Blackbutt.

The man, in his 40s, lost control of his motorcycle while travelling with a group of other riders.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 12.07pm by Retrieval Services Queensland and landed near the scene of the incident, bringing a specialist aeromedical team directly to the patient.

The LifeFlight critical care doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked together with local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for head injuries.

The patient was then airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
