The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a boy to hospital after he fell into a campfire.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 2.25pm by Retrieval Services Queensland and landed at a campground near Imbil in the Gympie region bringing a specialist medical team directly to the patient.
The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the boy for burns to the hands and back.
He was airlifted to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
