The Brisbane-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a man to hospital, after he was injured while surfing on North Stradbroke Island.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 8:04am by Retrieval Services Queensland and landed at a park near the beach where the incident occurred.
It was reported the man in his 60s had been surfing when his surfboard struck him in the chest.
The critical care LifeFlight doctor and flight nurse worked with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the patient.
He was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
