LifeFlight airlifts man after Fraser Coast region crash

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a man to hospital after a single-vehicle crash in the Fraser Coast region.

The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 12.02pm by Retrieval Services Queensland to a road near Gundiah and landed at a private property close to the scene bringing a specialist aeromedical team directly to the patient.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics, Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers and Queensland Fire Department (QFD) firefighters attended in a multi-agency response.

The critical care LifeFlight doctor and QAS flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for facial and neck injuries.

The man, in his 50s, was airlifted to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
