The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a man to hospital after a boating incident northwest of Seventeen Seventy.
It is believed the man was on the bow of a catamaran yacht when the boat hit rocks and he fell onto a metal railing.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 8.49am by Retrieval Services Queensland and landed on a sandbar where the patient had come to shore in a tender.
The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic treated the man for suspected fractured ribs.
The patient, aged in his 60s, was airlifted to the Bundaberg LifeFlight base and transported by road to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.
