The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a woman after a horse fall in the local hinterland.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland (RSQ) at 9.45am to a rural property in Verrierdale and landed near the scene.
It is believed the woman was trail riding when the horse in front reared up and she fell and was subsequently trampled.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics transported the patient to the helicopter.
She was treated for abdominal and pelvic injuries by the critical care LifeFlight doctor and QAS flight paramedic alongside local paramedics.
The patient, in her 50s, was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
