The Roma-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) aeromedical crew today airlifted a man to hospital after a machinery incident in the Maranoa region.
The man was working under a vehicle when the supporting jack failed and pinned him.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 12.26pm to a rural property and landed near the scene.
The critical care LifeFlight doctor and flight paramedic worked with a local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedic and two local nurses to treat the patient for suspected chest, abdomen and back injuries.
The man, in his 40s, was airlifted to Roma Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
The LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to providing community aeromedical coverage.
