The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a man to hospital following a motorbike crash on K’gari.
It is believed the motorbike rider was part of a group when he hit a log on a track and crashed.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked at 12.25pm by Retrieval Services Queensland and landed in a paddock near the scene.
The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked with local paramedics to treat the patient for wrist fractures.
Other motorbike riders helped the medical team transport the patient to the helicopter on a stretcher.
The man, in his 40s, was airlifted to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
