The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew today airlifted a man to hospital after a boating incident in the Gympie region.
The LifeFlight helicopter was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 8.55am and the crew was able to land at a boat ramp.
It is believed the man, aged in his 70s, was struck by a propeller while boating causing abdominal, leg, arm and head injuries.
The patient was treated by the LifeFlight critical care doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic alongside local QAS paramedics.
He was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition.
