LifeFlight airlifts boy after motocross crash

The LifeFlight Sunshine Coast-based aeromedical crew airlifted a teenager to hospital after he crashed his motocross bike in the Gympie region.

The boy was riding at a motocross park on Saturday when he crashed and was found unconscious.

The LifeFlight crew landed the helicopter in a paddock close to the incident.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics worked with the LifeFlight critical care doctor and QAS flight paramedic to stabilise the patient and treat him for head injuries.

He was accompanied by his father in the back of the helicopter and airlifted to Queensland Children’s Hospital for further treatment.
