The Brisbane-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has flown a young boy to hospital, after he was injured in a motocross incident in the Toowoomba region, on Sunday afternoon.
It’s believed the boy was riding a motocross bike with a group at a private property when his and another rider’s handlebars collided, causing him to crash.
The rescue chopper was tasked to assist just before 1pm (Sunday 16th April).
The pilot landed at the scene, where the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Nurse met with local Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the young boy.
He had suffered serious head injuries.
The young rider was stablised before being airlifted to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition, along with his father as an escort.
