Injured jet ski rider airlifted to hospital

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew has airlifted a man to hospital, after he was injured while jet skiing off a Moreton Bay Island, this morning (Wed 26).

Another jet ski rider and beach-goers came to the man’s aid when they noticed he was unconscious and face down in the water.

They brought the injured rider to shore, before help arrived.

The patient was alert and walking around when the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter landed on the beach on the north western side of the island at 12:28pm.

The man, who is aged in his twenties, was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition for further assessment.
