RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts seriously injured mountain bike rider

The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a seriously injured woman to hospital, after a mountain bike accident, this morning.

The crew flew to the scene, in a state forest in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, around 10.30am.

The aeromedical team worked with Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics to treat the rider for significant head injuries.

The woman, aged in her 40s, was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

She was transported in a serious but stable condition.
