RACQ LifeFlight Rescue winches injured hiker to safety

The Toowoomba RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has winched a woman to safety, after she was injured while hiking Table Top Mountain, this afternoon.

It’s believed the woman was heading back down the mountain, when she tripped and fell.

Due to the rough terrain, making it difficult for emergency crews on the ground to move her, the rescue chopper was called into action around 4:30pm.

Once at the mountain, the Queensland Ambulance Service Critical Care Flight Paramedic was lowered down to the woman, where he was able to stabilise her to be winched into the helicopter.

She was flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
