RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts exhausted firefighter

A firefighter suffering heat exhaustion has been airlifted to hospital, by the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter.

It’s believed the man, aged in his 20s, had been fighting a bushfire, in the Somerset region.

The aeromedical crew was called into action around 8pm last night (Saturday 9 November).

The firefighter was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, under the care of the LifeFlight Critical Care Doctor and a Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic.

He was transported in a stable condition.
