Woman airlifted after being trapped in farming equipment

A woman whose arm became caught in a piece of farming equipment, has been flown to hospital by the Brisbane-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter.

The rescue chopper was called to the scene, on a property north of Kilcoy, just before 10 o’clock this morning.

It’s believed a man on the farm saw the accident happen and called out to another person, to stop the machinery.

An RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew member said the woman’s injuries could have been a lot more serious, had bystanders not been able to stop the equipment and help her immediately.

Her arm was released before the aeromedical crew arrived.

The LifeFlight Critical Care Doctor and LifeFlight Flight Nurse helped Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics treat the woman for injuries to her right arm.

The patient, aged in her 50s, was then flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, in a stable condition.
