Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew airlifts shooting victim

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted a man to hospital, after he was shot yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 12th).

The rescue crew was called into action just after 4:30pm.

It’s believed the man was shot in the leg, at a private property, north of Gympie, earlier in the afternoon.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics initially treated the patient, aged in his twenties, at the scene, before he was taken to a nearby showground to meet the aeromedical team.

He was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a stable condition, under the care of an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and QAS Flight Paramedic.
