RACQ LifeFlight Rescue responds to light plane crash

The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has responded to a light plane crash in the Fraser Coast Region.

The rescue chopper crew received the call shortly after 2pm.

After the pilot landed the helicopter at the scene of the incident, the crew was advised the pilot of the crashed aircraft had made his way on foot through surrounding bushland.

He met Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and Queensland Police Service officers at a nearby road.

The pilot, aged in his 30s, had suffered minor injuries and was taken by QAS paramedics to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
