An RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew has flown a man to hospital, after he was injured in a ride-on mower incident, while he was working on his farm in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
The man was mowing on a slope, when the machinery reportedly rolled over and the blades hit his hand, causing severe injuries.
He called out to his wife and son, who were able to administer first aid and transport him to a nearby town, where he was treated by Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics.
The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called into action just before 5pm and the pilot landed at a sports field in the town.
The patient, who is aged in his 50s, was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
