The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a man to hospital, after he was seriously injured in a motorbike crash on a beach on K’gari (Fraser Island).
It’s believed the man, who is aged in his 40s, was riding his motorcycle on soft sand, when he crashed.
The rescue chopper was tasked just before 10 o’clock last night (Sunday, 10th October).
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter pilot landed at a helipad near the scene, where the aeromedical team met with Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and the patient.
The tourist was then flown to Hervey Bay Hospital, with suspected broken ribs, in a serious but stable condition.
