A primary school-aged boy has been flown to hospital in Brisbane, after he was injured in a motocross crash, this afternoon.
It’s believed the boy had been riding at a recreational park, west of the Sunshine Coast, when he fell off his motorbike and was subsequently run over, by another rider.
The Land Rover LifeFlight Special Mission helicopter was called to the scene just before 2pm.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were treating the patient, when the aeromedical team arrived.
The boy was flown to Queensland Children’s Hospital, with multiple injuries, in a serious condition.
He was accompanied by his father.
The Land Rover LifeFlight Special Mission helicopter performed this mission as it is currently, temporarily based on the Sunshine Coast, while the familiar blue and yellow RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter undergoes scheduled engineering.
